Our leadership team have practical and spiritual oversight over the church. Below are short bios with pictures to help you identify the leadership and to introduce those who work as part of our Staff Team.
David has been married to Stacey for 13 years, and they have two boys – Joseph and Joshua. He has been an Elim Minister for the past 15 years. One of their great desires in life and ministry is to see people come into freedom and to walk in their giftings. We believe wholeheartedly that everyone has something to offer – from the youngest to the oldest! This does not have to be confined to a Sunday gathering alone. We long to see and develop a fivefold gifted leadership to see Clacton, Harwich, Jaywick and beyond affected by the truth of the gospel. On a lighter note, I like to watch and play sport and am an Ipswich Town fan which means I have been long suffering!
Ray is married to Jenny and they have three grown up children who are all married and currently four grandchildren. He works as an engineer for Openreach. Within the church he helps to give spiritual oversight alongside Pastor David. He plays the bass and guitar within the worship team. He loves to spend time with members of the congregation getting to know them and encouraging them. He especially loves to help other musicians/singers to develop in their gifting. Ray loves to keep fit by playing badminton as often as he can and is a Liverpool fan.
Steve has been married to Jenny for 58 years. Steve is retired from working as a regional manager for Pearl Assurance and then managing a group of shops for a local Charity supporting young folk with learning difficulties. He has been a deacon at the church for 10 years. He plays the keyboard as part of the worship team (well someone has to be the oldest!) and likes to meet up with people from the congregation to for fellowship and to provide encouragement. Jenny retired from Marks & Spencer’s and runs a home prayer group.
Martin has been married to Val for 30 years and they have one child. He is an engineering teacher in a local school in Thorpe-le-Soken which keeps him very busy. He loves to worship and functions as a worship leader within the church. He is also our designated safeguarding lead. Martin enjoys playing about with all things mechanical and likes to go to local wrestling. He is a long-suffering Crystal Palace fan.
Mike lives in Harwich with his wife Stacy, and they have been happily married for 29 years. They are grateful parents of four grown-up children and enjoy spending time together as a family. Mike works as a Customer Service and Support Manager for Pickering Interfaces. At church he enjoys serving in practical ways, particularly supporting sound, visuals, and other technical aspects that help services and events run smoothly. In his spare time, Mike enjoys walking, sightseeing, entertaining friends and family, eating out with Stacy, and pursuing hobbies such as fish keeping, technology, and steam trains.
Colin works within the office and is responsible for the financial accounts of the church including Gift Aid. In addition to this, he helps with general administrative tasks as required and ensures that we keep up to date with necessary compliance issues.
Stacey works alongside David. She is involved in pastoral ministry helping to visit and minister to people within the congregation. In addition to this, she deals with Safer Recruitment of volunteers – ensuring that we comply with our Safeguarding Policy and that relevant DBS checks are completed. She leads the Women’s Ministry and helps teach in Limitless Kids Clacton and our Limitless youth work. Stacey also helps with general administration as needed.
Jo ensures that the building is a tidy and welcoming space, making it useable for all groups. She also runs Little Angels Treasures Toddler Group and helps lead Limitless Kids Clacton. Jo is our Deputy Safeguarding Lead.
